Thank you for deciding to help Habitat for Humanity advocate for simple, decent, affordable housing! On this page you will find links to our new Paper House and sample letters.
Sample paper house created by Lisa Douglass and designed by Marilyn Scott-Waters.
These paper houses are meant to be reminders to government officials that simple, decent housing is on the hearts and minds of their constituency. The Paper House Campaign is a great opportunity to encourage youth to advocate for affordable housing. To participate, just print, cut out, color, fold and send these paper houses to lawmakers in your community. We’ve created some sample letters that you may want to include with your houses so lawmakers understand the message of the houses. The electronic versions are meant to be downloaded, edited and printed. The handwritten version can be printed and then the blanks filled in by younger children. All sample letters are formatted to be printed out on Habitat letterhead. If you would like your letter to be printed on Habitat letterhead, contact your local Habitat affiliate, explain the Paper House Campaign and ask if they would allow you to use their letterhead. The design of this paper house was generously donated by Marilyn Scott-Waters at www.thetoymaker.com.
