Habitat for Humanity is active in communities all around the world. Find out what Habitat is doing in your community and get involved! Habitat affiliates are the local branches of Habitat for Humanity. Habitat affiliates are independently operated. To find out what Habitat is doing in your area, contact the affiliate nearest you and let them know:
• How old you are/your student group is.
• That you are interested in volunteering.
• That you are interested in exploring volunteer opportunities other that building.
Remember, you need to be 16 or older to work on a Habitat build site. But if you are younger than 16, you can still help! Be creative and come up with some ideas, such as:
• Make wooden key holders, tool boxes, benches, etc. to donate to the affiliate or a homeowner family.
• Coordinate a birthday gift project for a homeowner child.
• Help fold and stuff newsletters or mailings.
• Tutor younger children of Habitat homeowners.
• Host the Welcome Home Housing Simulation for other young people in your community.
• Come up with your own ideas!
