Registering for a build

The HFHI RV coordinator organizes builds at the request of hosting affiliates needing to accelerate their construction program. The details and dates are advertised in Care-A-Vanner, the program’s quarterly newsletter. To join a build team, select a build from the build schedule and call the RV coordinator at (800) 422-4828, Ext. 7534, as instructed on the schedule. Please note that RV Care-A-Vanner build registration will be going online soon!

To ensure equal opportunity for all RV Care-A-Vanners, the following build registration rules apply:

• Registrations are only accepted on or after the dates noted in the schedule.
• Participation is on a first-to-call basis.
• You must speak with the RV coordinator to register.
• Voicemail and e-mail registration requests are not accepted. Please do not leave a message when attempting to register on sign-up day.
• Each Care-A-Vanner may register only for his/her RV.

Do not attend an RV Care-A-Vanner build unless you have been confirmed on that build by the HFHI RV coordinator and have received the build information packet from the team leader.

The RV Care-A-Vanner office is open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST, except holidays.

Waitlist
If the build you are seeking is full when you call, request to be placed on the waitlist. If a cancellation occurs, the RV coordinator will contact the first name on the waitlist to fill the vacancy. It is not uncommon for the first few names on the waitlist to end up being invited to the build. If you are on a waitlist and no longer plan to accept an invitation to that build, even if offered, please notify the RV coordinator so your name can be removed from the list.

After you are registered for a build
Approximately eight weeks prior to the start of the build, each registered participant will receive from the team leader an information packet (possibly electronically) containing directions, parking arrangements, contact information and additional details. If you are registered for the build and do not receive information from the team leader by six weeks prior to the build, contact the RV coordinator.

Cancellations
If you must withdraw from a build prior to it starting, please notify the RV coordinator as early as possible so a replacement can be obtained from the waitlist.
