International Volunteer Day
The United Nations has established December 5 of each year as The International Volunteer Day for Economic and Social Development. At Habitat for Humanity, we use this opportunity to celebrate the growing spirit of volunteerism that is spreading throughout the world.

In Latin America and the Caribbean, we also celebrate the voices of the many volunteers who work to improve access to adequate housing in the region.

Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project
Habitat's 28th annual Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project will kick off a two-year effort to strengthen and support Habitat's work in Haiti. From November 5-12, 2011, President Carter and former First Lady Rosalynn Carter will join hundreds of volunteers in helping Haitian families still struggling to rebuild homes and hope after the devastating 2010 earthquake.
