Living in Poverty Area

What is Poverty Housing?

• Imagine living without immediate access to basic services—such as running water—necessary for health and life.
• Imagine living in a structure where it’s impossible to secure your possessions or protect your family against intruders.

Nearly 1.3 billion people in the world live in absolute poverty--on less than $1 a day. The vast majority of the world's poor live in makeshift shelters that leave them exposed--vulnerable to weather, disease and violence. Running water, electricity, health or social services are unaffordable luxuries. Living in cramped, unsafe conditions, every day is a struggle to survive.
