World Habitat Day and the Carter Work Project
The official sponsorship page of the 2011 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project and World Habitat Day events.
Habitat for Humanity will engage in a month-long observance of the need for safe, decent and affordable shelter beginning on World Habitat Day. The Carter Work Project, taking place in Haiti, will be the culmination event of this effort.
World Habitat Day is designated each year by the United Nations as a time to reflect on the dire need for adequate shelter around the globe. Habitat will kick off the World Habitat Day observance and the Carter Work Project with an event in Washington, D.C. This event will focus on building hope after disasters and recognize leaders who support those efforts.
Additionally, Habitat for Humanity’s global network will host events throughout October in more than 40 countries around the world. These events will draw attention to the importance of shelter in post-disaster settings.

DONATE
Regardless of the country, natural disasters create havoc for the poor, who tend to live in unsafe structures. The earthquake in Haiti is an example of the devastation that is possible when so many families are living in crowded, unsafe conditions.
Please donate to help Habitat’s reconstruction efforts in Haiti. No matter how big or small, every donation counts. Even a few dollars buys supplies in Haiti and funds our efforts to bring the word of World Habitat Day and Habitat for Humanity to the world.
