  • Tornadoes in the Midwest and Southeastern United States
    Storms unleashed more than 77 tornadoes across 14 Midwestern and Southeastern states. Over 2,000 homes sustained damage in Indiana and Kentucky, two of the hardest hit states.

    To help these communities with long-term recovery efforts, we are coordinating with other voluntary organizations and government stakeholders and working with our local Habitat affiliates in southern Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio.

  • Monsoons, tropical storms, flooding and mudslides in El Salvador, Guatemala, Cambodia, India, Thailand and the Philippines
    Typhoons and monsoon rains in the Pacific region and tropical storms in Central America have caused widespread flooding and mudslides. Tens of thousands of families have been forced from their homes and are in desperate need of shelter.

    We working on shelter solutions in partnership with low-income families in these countries but our ability to respond to these disasters will depend on your support.

  • Tornadoes and flooding in the central United States
    In April and May, 2011, the central United States was hit by back-to-back disasters. Violent storms and tornadoes across the south and Midwest. A devastating tornado in Joplin, Mo. Heavy rains and record flooding along the Mississippi River.

    Hundreds of people were killed, neighborhoods were flooded and entire communities were destroyed. Thousands were left homeless.

    Our local Habitat affiliates are leading the cleanup and rebuilding efforts. Learn more about the tornadoes and flooding in the central U.S. and how you can help.
