Habitat for Humanity AmeriCorps, VISTA

Portrait of an AmeriCorps member. The 2004 AmeriCorps Build-a-Thon, hosted by Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity, brought together 250 AmeriCorps members from 22 states. Ten houses were built in seven days.

Habitat for Humanity, in partnership with the Corporation for National and Community Service, provides hundreds of service opportunities for people of diverse ages and backgrounds. CNCS, an integral part of USA Freedom Corps, supports dynamic volunteer service programs such as AmeriCorps*State/National, AmeriCorps*VISTA, AmeriCorps*NCCC and Senior Corps.

Habitat for Humanity is proud of its partnership with AmeriCorps*National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC), a 10-month residential national service program for young women and men between the ages of 18 and 24. AmeriCorps*NCCC members serve on teams that meet community needs across the country, and each year some of those teams spend weeks serving with Habitat affiliates to help build affordable housing with people in need of decent shelter.
